A normal (static) QR code never expires: the link or text is stored inside the code itself, so it works for as long as the destination exists. In DWM QR a code only stops working if you choose an expiry. It then becomes a dynamic code that redirects through qr.dealwithmuhammad.com and shows an “expired” page after the date you picked, such as 10 or 20 days later.

Is DWM QR really free, with no ads?

Yes. It's completely free, with no ads, no sign-up, no watermark and no scan limits. Static codes keep working forever. Dynamic codes are free too; to prevent abuse, each visitor can create up to 30 new dynamic codes a day.

What's the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static code contains your destination directly and works forever without any server. A dynamic code contains a short link (qr.dealwithmuhammad.com/r/…) that redirects to your destination, which lets you set an expiry date, count scans and change the destination later. In DWM QR a code is static unless you pick an expiry or turn on “Track scans & edit later”.

Can I change where a QR code goes after I print it?

Only if it's a dynamic code. Before you download, pick an expiry or turn on “Track scans & edit later”. Afterwards, open “My codes” in the same browser to change the link, extend or shorten the expiry, make it permanent, or delete it. The list is saved in your browser, so copy each code's manage link or export the list as a backup. A static code can't be changed once printed.

Will a QR code with colors or a logo still scan?

Yes, as long as the dots are clearly darker than the background. When you add a logo, DWM QR automatically switches to the highest error correction (H), which lets a code survive about 30% of it being covered. The editor warns you about low contrast, light-on-dark codes and very large logos. Always test-scan before printing.

What size should I print a QR code, and what is the quiet zone?

Print it at least 2 × 2 cm, and bigger for codes scanned from further away: a good rule is the scanning distance divided by 10, so 10 cm wide for one metre away. The quiet zone is the blank margin around the code; 4 modules (dots) is the official minimum, and you can set it under More. For print, SVG and PDF stay sharp at any size.

Which file formats can I download?

PNG (512, 1024 or 2048 pixels), SVG (vector), JPG and PDF, with your frame and call to action included. You can also copy the image to the clipboard or print it. Templates download as 300 DPI PNGs and as PDFs at the exact paper size; the Instagram post is a 1080 × 1080 PNG.

What do you store about my QR codes?

Static codes are generated in your browser, and their content and your logo never leave your device. For a dynamic code, the server stores only the destination link, the name you give it, its creation and expiry dates, a scan count and the last scan time. No scanner IP addresses or personal details are kept, and expired codes are deleted 90 days after they expire. The site counts anonymous page views and button clicks, never what your codes contain. To report a code used for spam or phishing, email me@dealwithmuhammad.com with its short link.

Can I make Wi-Fi, contact (vCard) and WhatsApp QR codes?

Yes. A Wi-Fi code lets guests join your network by scanning, for WPA, WEP or open networks, including hidden ones. A contact code saves a vCard with name, phone, email, company, job title, website and address. A WhatsApp code opens a chat with your number and an optional pre-filled message.
