WhatsApp QR code generator
A WhatsApp QR code opens a chat with your number when someone scans it, optionally with a message already typed in. DWM QR turns your number into WhatsApp's official wa.me click-to-chat link, lets you add the WhatsApp logo and a frame, and downloads it free with no sign-up.
1What should it open?
How long should it work?
Forever, or stop it after a few days. You decide.
Static code: your link is stored inside the code itself, so it works forever and nothing is saved on our server.
2Make it yours
How to make a WhatsApp QR code
- 1
Enter your number with the country code
Type the full international number, for example +60 12 345 6789. Spaces, dashes, + and a leading 00 are fine; don't start with a local 0.
- 2
Add a message (optional)
Write the text that should appear in the chat box, such as “Hi, I'd like to book a table”. The person scanning can edit it before they press send.
- 3
Add the WhatsApp logo and a frame
The Logo tab is already open: pick the built-in WhatsApp icon or upload your own, then add a frame with a call to action like “Chat with us”.
- 4
Download, or make it trackable
Download PNG, SVG, JPG or PDF. To count scans, change the number later or make the code stop after a while, choose an expiry or switch on “Track scans & edit later” first.
Where to use a WhatsApp QR code
Shops and counters
Customers scan a sticker at the till or on packaging to ask about stock, orders or delivery.
Restaurants and bookings
A code on the table or the door opens a chat with “I'd like to book a table for…” already typed.
Business cards and flyers
Skip typing a number into contacts: one scan starts the conversation. A different pre-filled message per flyer tells you which one worked.
Short campaigns
Give a promotion's code an expiry date so it stops opening chats when the offer ends.
Tips for a WhatsApp QR code that gets messages
- Say what happens on the frame: “Chat on WhatsApp” or “Order on WhatsApp” gets more scans than a bare code.
- Keep the pre-filled message short. Long messages make the code denser and harder to scan from a distance.
- Use a dynamic code if the number might change, so printed codes can be pointed at the new number.
- Test it on a phone that doesn't have your number saved, to see exactly what customers see.
Why use this QR code generator
Plenty of QR code makers are free to start. Here's what you get on DWM QR without paying or signing up, and what it doesn't do.
No account for anything
Logos, SVG and PDF downloads, templates and dynamic codes all work without signing up. Some well-known generators keep logos, vector files or editable codes behind an account or a trial.
No ads, no watermark
The page has no ads and the downloads carry no visible branding, so the code you print is only yours.
Private by design
Static codes, logos and templates are made in your browser and never uploaded. Dynamic codes store only the link, an optional name, their dates and a scan count.
Dynamic codes without a trial
Editable, trackable codes are free and don't switch off after a trial period. They stop only if you set an expiry date or delete them.
Expiry dates when you want them
Make a code that works for 1, 7, 10, 20 or 30 days, or until a date you choose, then shows a friendly “expired” page.
Print-ready, not just a PNG
300 DPI posters, flyers, business cards, table tents, Wi-Fi cards and stickers, plus scan-safety checks before you print.
What it doesn't do
- No bulk generation from a spreadsheet and no API.
- Scan statistics are a count and the last scan time, not locations or devices.
- Up to 30 new dynamic codes per visitor per day (static codes are unlimited).
- “My codes” lives in your browser, so keep the manage link or export the list as a backup.
- Only links, WhatsApp chats and Google Maps locations can be dynamic; Wi-Fi, contact, text, email, phone and SMS codes are static.
